My journey in occupational therapy began in 1998, when I became an Occupational Therapy Assistant. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted a career rooted in service—one that allowed me to work closely with individuals, support independence, and guide families through some of life’s most meaningful transitions. Driven by a desire to expand my clinical impact and scope of practice, I went on to earn my degree in Occupational Therapy from Barry University in 2001. This combination of hands-on experience and advanced education laid the foundation for a career dedicated to compassionate, functional, and client-centered care.
Throughout my career, I have gained experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including acute care, subacute rehabilitation, long-term care, outpatient therapy, home health, and private practice. These experiences strengthened my clinical reasoning, adaptability, and appreciation for individualized, functional, and meaningful intervention.
Working with children and families has reinforced my belief in the importance of dignity, patience, advocacy, and collaboration at every stage of development. My work focuses on supporting children in building essential skills for everyday life, including handwriting, fine motor development, sensory processing, and social skills. Therapy is grounded in understanding each child within the context of their daily routines, supporting functional performance across activities of daily living at home, school, and in the community.
Today, my practice is shaped not only by formal education, but by decades of real-world experience, a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship, and a strong belief in every child’s capacity for growth and independence. Occupational therapy is more than a profession to me—it is a calling centered on helping children live fuller, more meaningful lives.
